Obstacles

As you travel along your way, obstacles will appear before you. Not all the obstacles are real, however; some are merely illusions designed by the enemy to hinder your progress. He desires to hinder you until time runs out for you to finish your course. See that you do not allow him to do this, that you may claim your many rewards when all is done.  For the obstacles that are real, My Word holds the key to how to overcome each one on your path.

He who walks a smooth path learns little, but he who walks a rocky path develops both skill and understanding for overcoming various sizes and types of obstacles.

I desire you would have both skill and understanding. I desire you would learn to discern what is real from what is an illusion, that you be not hindered along your way.

Do not allow the enemy to deceive you.

James 1:2-4
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Proverbs 3:5-7
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Habakkuk 2:3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

1 Peter 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Revelation 3:21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

1 Corinthians 9:23-25
23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

  1. Thank you for this, Glynda. Can you give an example of an illusion the enemy may create? Thanks and God bless!

  2. TeeDePinto - The Lord did not define for me what the obstacles might be, but I got the impression they could be things like something we don't think we are able to do.

  3. God is speaking about our journey and the path He has for us and how the obstacles will come because it processes us, and it's part of our path. In His Word we are given ability and grace to overcome the obstacles that are "real." But the obstacles that are "illusions," are not our assignments. "Illusions" speak to trying to overcome something or doing something that God did not plan for us. The enemy is using wiles and tricks to get us engaged into things that drain us, derail us, or hinder and distract us. Like a woman who prays for a mate and an Imposter comes. She thinks she can fix him.
Or an invasive friend who calls you ten times a day, and interrupts your time with your family. Or a church lady who says, "Would you like to do this for the Lord?" It sounds good, but that person has self seeking and is using you. Then you miss your true calling because you were derailed into another's agenda. Or seeking a platform instead of seeking the relationship with Jesus. Some obstacles are ordained. Others are illusions from the devil. You don't have to post this. This post might upset some people. I'm speaking about satanic warfare here. It's very tricky stuff.

  8. TeeDePinto - it means before your time runs out of the time allotted for your specific destiny to be done, or before your life ends. They may not be the same time frame. Like Jonah was told to go to Nineveh - he couldn't go ten years later, God needed him to go right then. Jonah had a certain amount of time to work within to be in obedience.
