Since starting the series on Blog Talk Radio on Spiritual Warfare and Breaking Generational Curses, I have received numerous emails asking for help with or information about deliverance. I began doing the series in an effort to teach more believers about their authority to break curses and cast out demons in their own lives, since help from local churches is sometimes not readily available.

What Are the Signs of Demonic Affliction?

Your Mind Is the Battlefield
Our minds are always the battlefield on which the fight against evil will be won or lost initially. Thoughts lead to behaviors. If we keep our thoughts pure, our behavior will stay pure as well. The enemy is always working to get wrong thoughts in so he can defile our minds, get us into deception, or get us into immoral behavior. It is important in our quest to walk holy that we learn how to cast down wicked imaginations and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Getting free from sin can be a real struggle, especially if we are suffering from strongholds that began years ago. Scripture tells us if we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, that he must flee. You can listen to an episode on how to submit to God and resist the devil here:

Casting Out Demons
Here is some basic how-to information to get you started if you are working on your deliverance.If you believe you are being afflicted by a demon or group of demons, and you are a believer - meaning, if you believe Jesus died for your sins on the cross and God raised Him from the dead, and you have accepted Him as your personal savior, then you have the authority, or right, to use His name to make the demons leave you alone. You can cast them out and command them to return to hell where they belong by using this simple method:
Spirit of ______(name the spirit if you know its name)______, I command you in the Name of Jesus to depart from me. I command you to leave NOW in the Name of Jesus and return to your master the devil in hell. I command that you may never return to me again in Jesus Name. Go NOW!
Breaking Generational Curses
A curse begins when someone in the father's blood line commits a sin and does not ever repent for it. Then the payment for that sin passes to the next person and keeps passing until someone repents. (Exodus 34:7: Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. (also found at Ex. 20:5, Num. 14:18 and Deut. 5:9).
The key is to ask the Lord to reveal to you (like in a dream or
during prayer) what the generational curses are, or sometimes you can tell by what is
manifesting in your life, then you can go before Him in prayer and honestly
repent on behalf of whomever committed the sin, knowing their sin was
displeasing to Him and ask Him to please forgive the sin and remove the
iniquity from your bloodline. We know if we ask in genuine repentance for a sin
to be forgiven that He always forgives. (I John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he
is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.)
Now command the curse to be broken in
Jesus Name and to command it to fall to the ground and become nothing. Then command every demon assigned to your family because of the curse you just broke
to become one spirit with every other spirit it brought or let in, to clean up
all its filth and pick up every single seed it planted, to restore any damage
it has done to you, and to leave immediately in the Name of Jesus and go back to its master the devil in hell, and that it may never return to you again.
Interceding and Doing Warfare On Behalf of Others
Often we desire not only to free ourselves, but to see those we love get free as well. There are things we can do that will work to help them get free, and others that will not work. Spiritual warfare and breaking curses are a very important aspect of being a believer. Sometimes souls can be greatly affected by having such knowledge and using it. Finding such information can become a confusing maze. Thank you for putting up this web page!

Praise the Lord Glynda, I have a question concerning the spiritual warfare Bible. There seems to be allot of legitimate arguments claim the book is not truly ideal for spiritual warfare. Because of lacking of more scriptural proof and being to opinionated.
What did God tell you concerning the book??
I know we wrestle not against flesh and blood, so please "know" that this is NOT and attack against you nor against your teachings, because we are on the same team.
However, I must ask a question concerning generational curses. Colossians 2:10-15 states, "And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: (11) In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: (12) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
(13) And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; (14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (15) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Now, according to verse 14, I believe that I can stand rest assured that Jesus Christ has nailed everything to the cross. Now, also as a believer, I can either choose to trust in this finished work of Jesus Christ and walk in it by the Spirit OR that I can allow the enemy or others to somehow cause me to doubt it in one way or another. The bottom line is, that we MUST know who we are in Christ, IF we are to live a Victorious Life. For a born again believer, there shouldn't be any generational curses to be broken off of them. Either one believes God's Word or not.
Now, according to the last half of verse 23 of Romans 14; to be in doubt of something is in fact a sin, for whatsoever is NOT of faith is sin. Romans 14:23

Sometimes the believer has cursed items in their house or on their land that can affect their lives. This can be a part of the generational curse inherited upon a believer. (Inherit the land or the item, and bingo! You are re-cursed.)

Note: the generational curses were from others who had lived on the land before us. But WE were the ones to suffer there because of it...
